I’m writing to respectfully urge you to vote to allot retail space in the Bear’s Lair to the Berkeley Student Food Collective, as part of this week's ASUC Student Union Board vote. The Food Collective’s expansion is supported by the Basic Needs Center, the ASUC, Councilmember Rigel Robinson, the Telegraph Business Improvement District, & thousands of students who rely on the Food Collective for the cheapest groceries in Berkeley. As one of campus’ most active and longest-lasting student communities, the Food Collective will fill a conspicuous gap in the UC Berkeley student experience while bringing in critical revenue for the Student Union and its staff.
